Chloe likes Olivia

So. A couple weeks or so ago I read A Room of One’s own by Virginia Woolf. My favorite chapter was the Chloe liked Olivia chapter because it a) starts out with the narrator talking about lesbians, and b) ends up talking about the need for legitimate representation of female relationships and friendships in literature. The importance of women maintaining "interests besides the perennial interests of domesticity." It reminded me of the thought behind the Bechdel test, only written decades earlier.

Anyway, The line “Chloe likes Olivia" sounded like one of two things to me: either a band name, or the name of a cute comic series about a little girl who has a crush on her best friend. It would essentially be about their random hijinks in and out of school, featuring, of course, their scientific experiments because hey, "Chloe liked Olivia. They shared a laboratory together. . . ."
